Message of Reconciliation

“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”

II Corinthians‬ ‭5:20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In the Kingdom of God, there is an amazing office that awaits every citizen of the Kingdom to step into. This office is that of an AMBASSADOR.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines an ambassador as an official envoy; especially : a diplomatic agent of the highest rank accredited to a foreign government or sovereign as the resident representative of his or her own government or sovereign or appointed for a special and often temporary diplomatic assignment.
Concerning the kingdom of God, this special diplomatic assignment primarily comprises of delivering a  specific message from God to the world.

“Be reconciled to God.”

The work of Christ through the cross was God spreading His lovely arms wide open to the world for reconciliation. II Corinthians 5:19 asserts:

“that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”

As ambassadors of Christ, we are obligated to carry out His work. The very same work that God was doing through Christ Jesus. This is that which has been committed to us – proclaiming the Word (Message)  of reconciliation. This proclamation is the obligation of every Christian. Taking up this assignment immediately makes you an ambassador.

Though each ambassador administers this message a bit different in his/her own way, the footing of the message is quite simple.

God was in Christ conciliating the World to himself. He is not imputing anyone’s trespasses to them anymore. All He wants is for us (everyone) to respond and return to him in reconciliation.”

We should understand that God did not commit to us believers, the word of condemnation but of reconciliation. He didn’t assign us to tell others about hell, fire punishment and whatnot. He simply wants to reconcile with His enemies and does not hold any of their wrongdoings against them.
We were once sinners. When we were in the world, we were enemies of God until God reconciled us to Himself through the cross of Christ(Romans 5:10). His love reached us just as He wills for it to reach every single sinner.

The sinner doesn’t need condemnation or the instilling of the fear of fiery punishment. I don’t know about you but I don’t think any enemy will become your true friend if you threaten them to be your pals. They will almost certainly hate you the more. This is not God’s intention.

They need what the Lord has commanded you and I to do. The Good news of God’s Vast love.
Conclusion

Sin alienated God from His creatures(including you and I) and made all of us  His enemies. But God did not want it that way so He stepped forward to show forth His love to all His creatures with the aim of reconciling with every one of them. God introduced His love for everyone in that while we all were still sinners, Christ died for our sakes. God is pleading through us (who have now reconciled with Him) to all sinners. He has dropped all charges and opened his arms wide to welcome them back to Him in peace.
Let us all step up and take this responsibility of ambassadorship given us. Let’s spread the message given us to all sinners:

“God is not holding any of your trespasses against you. He loves you dearly and wants to be your friend. Please be reconciled to God.”

Shalom!!
