Resurrection of the Dead 110: Caught Up

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the
dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with
them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall
always be with the Lord.”

From all our previous sessions in this wonderful series. We have
learnt a lot of things and found out from the Word of God that most sections from the theory about rapture that we were led to believe were not exactly accurate.
Truth was lost in the dark ages of  Church history for about a thousand years where no one was allowed to be seen with a bible. Men and women forgot all about the scriptures and followed all that the Catholic priests or bishops brought up. This was no democracy. You don’t follow; you will have to face the dire consequences.
So they were forced to take the traditions made by men and
substitute them with the real Word of God. And it happened for
generations. Think about it! Over a thousand years!
When the truth began to be unveiled, the Lord started with few  of his messagers like Wycliffe -who was despised and then killed.

Many sacrificed their lives for the unveiling of the truth; up until Martin Luther with the principal  revelation- “The Just shall live by faith“. He knew so little about the rest like baptism, sanctification and new creation realities.

The revelation of speaking in tongues (Pentecost) came of about in the 1900s. Just imagine! But it has been in the Word of God for
over 2000 years. The first century church, as recorded in the Bible, knew that.
When God started unveiling the truth; He did that gradually and
progressively. Each generation had messengers sent from God to
reveal progressive truths which were later found out to be better than the former until the most of the entire truth that was in existence before the Dark Ages was restored.

More revelation of these hidden verities in God’s infallible Word, are still being revealed; for the glory of the latter church always to be better than that of the early church. God raises messengers in each new generation to reveal more of these and build upon those revealed by the previous generations in order to present a much clearer picture of God’s truth up until the appointed time of the end – when the mystery of God’s purpose in human history is complete (Revelation 10:7).
That is what I am doing today – heralding the truth. We now understand that the Lord is coming to join with us on the
earth and not vice versa in Heaven; for we are already citizens of that realm but created here on earth by God for a purpose that we are yet to completely fulfill.
We studied that the concept of being “LEFT BEHIND ” is erroneous and not scriptural. The scripture confirms this without any doubt. If there is any to be left behind; it is the Believers.

Remember Noah’s story? Noah and his family, that Jesus mentioned, was left
behind on the earth whereas the others were taken away by the
flood. Another is the parable of the wheat and tares where the
tares (children of the evil one) were the first to be bundled up
(taken away) from the field (world). Not ignoring Jesus’ statement in the Beatitudes – the meek shall inherit the earth (Matthew 5:5). I wonder how that will happen if they were taken off the earth to dwell in Heaven forever.
Even in our last three sessions, we saw the prophetic patterns of
this revelation from the writings of Moses. Moses returned to the earth after He met the Lord in
the Clouds just as we will in due time.

We were made on earth to express God’s Will, Authority and Glory on
this earth and that’s what we are going to do. His Glory has to fill the entire earth – every man, animal, plant, water body etc. –
with mankind effecting God’s authority here on earth.
Let us briefly look at the concept of being “caught up“. The
passage in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 says,

“Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds.”

This word “caught up” is actually the word universally referred to as the rapture. The English word “rapture” is derived from the Latin verb “Rapere” meaning “to carry off,” or “to catch up.”
There have been many misconceptions concerning the theory been caught up (rapture). Many mistook being left behind for rapture.  Scripture says otherwise and Scripture CANNOT BE BROKEN.

What is “caught up” or the word many use today – “rapture“?
“Caught up” is translated from the Greek word “harpazo” which means to catch away or to seize.

Let us find out with instances from the Holy Script, where this word “harpazo” or “caught up” was used.
The first instance we will deal with is that of The Book of Acts.

And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away (harpazo) Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. (KJV)

Acts 8:39

From this passage of Scripture, it can be seen that The Lord caught
Peter away. The Lord raptured Peter and the Eunuch saw Him no more.
Put yourselves into the shoes of this Eunuch;  this wierd Philip dude just disappeared before your eyes. That would be one scary scene. A believer in our time  would have thought, “Rapture has began! I wasn’t found worthy!”

let’s see what happened next:

But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he
preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

Act 8:40

Philip was found in Azotus. We don’t know where he went to in his
harpazo journey, but we do know that He was found on the earth, continuing to preach.

Harpazo in this scenario always ends with being on the earth.

went into the clouds and then later descended after forty days,
preaching and teaching His people.
Let us look at another instance.
In the Book of 2 Corinthians; Paul, trying to be modest speaks of a
man (himself) being caught up (harpazo) into the Third Heavens.

“Boasting is necessary, though it is not profitable; but I will go
on to visions and revelations of the Lord.
I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago-whether in the body I
do not know, or out of the body I do not know, God knows-such a man
was caught up (harpazo) to the third heaven.”

But we know that Paul (being a pattern for the Church)returned to
the earth and continued His work; his teaching and preaching etc
. He was later martyred on the earth.

Therefore, being caught up together with them in the clouds to
meet the Lord
is performed solely with the purpose of returning to the earth
with greater glory and revelation to minister to the nations;
like Philip, Paul, Moses etc

In Our next session we will delve deeper into the understanding of
this revelation of “caught up.”
