It’s been a fun ride scanning through the different argumentative styles.
Now Atheists claim that:
– Reason is on their side.
– Science is on their side.
– Morality is on their side.
Let’s take a brief look at reason.
WHAT IS REASON?
Merriam Webster Dictionary defines Reason as:
A statement or fact that explains why something is the way it is, why someone does, thinks, or says something, or why someone behaves a certain way.
Like I stated earlier: Reason and Belief are not on opposite sides. They are not related. The opposite of reason is irrationality and the opposite of belief is unbelief.
There can be reasonable belief and also irrational unbelief.
Now from the definition, reason is a statement or fact that explains why something is the way it is or does what it does.
Our subject is this universe specially, our planet.
Now what do atheists claim to be the reason for earth’s existence? A Big Bang.
Big Bang Theory
Most of us know of the Big bang theory.
A theory in astronomy that says the universe originated billions of years ago in an explosion from a single point of nearly infinite energy density.
It’s an explosion through which matter came forth and formed what we have as the physical plane.
Now this theory they say, is reason. Let us apply reason here with a few questions.
- Doesn’t a Big Bang need a big banger?
- Where did all that nearly infinite mass of energy came from?
Saying that it just appeared is as fictitious as the origin of the sharingan or Captain Planet.
For every effect there has to be a cause (a reason that explains why it and/how it happened)
• When you hear a knock on the door. You never assume that the knock knocked itself. It’s irrational. Something or someone must be behind that knock. There’s always a cause.
• James’ friend brings you a letter addressed to you. It has on it no information of the sender.
James: “Who brought me this letter?”
Friend: “Erm, no one.”
James(shrugs): “Eh, it happens. Let me just read it.”
No sane person will believe that. The letter must have a cause – a sender. Someone wrote the contents of letter and someone posted it and sent it here.
That’s reason. Every effect gotta have a cause.
Some atheists would say:
“It’s possible the universe came from of nothing.”
Wow!!! That doesn’t sound desperate at all.
If you hear such an answer. Ask this question:
“Let’s say it’s possible. But is it reasonable ?”
It’s reason we are here for, not possible fairy tales.
#1 It is possible. But is it reasonable that if a monkey bang the computer keyboard many times, it can produce a perfect copy of one of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter novel series ?
#2. Is it reasonable that if rats move on a musical keyboard, it will play a perfect Beethoven’s “moonlight” classical music?
Divine Intelligence being the cause
There has to be an Intelligent Divine Entity being the source behind it all. He is the only cause that was uncaused. What We Christians call Eternal.
If you trace everything way back to its source, it gets to a point where you’ll realize that there’s a Supreme Divine intelligent source. This source must be outside and above the material realm to have caused the material realm(Big Bang) to have been formed or created.
Energy, as we all know from the Law of thermodynamics, can neither be created or destroyed. It changes from one form to another.
That nearly infinite energy of the Big Bang cannot have appeared on its own. It must have been channeled from a source that contains energy in its highest form.
What some call spiritual power – The power that caused the physical plane to form from this Great Divine Intelligent Being.
No matter how you put it, the notion of a Creator sounds more reasonable than the universe just appearing to being with no cause whatsoever.
Reason stands on our side.
Our next session will briefly touch on the statement:
Who’s side is science on?
Excited. Aren’t you? Stay tuned.
